If you have a license key for ZBrush (Subscription or Perpetual license including ZBrush, the ZBrush Trial or ZBrushCore) and when activating receive a message that "ZBrush is unable to communicate with the Pixologic servers in order to verify your license," please verify that you don't have a firewall blocking the communication.
We have learned that a program called Netskope is a common cause of this issue, including for Mac users.
While the Pixologic licensing server does occasionally require a restart, it is very rare and never lasts longer than 15 minutes. Any time you encounter this issue and it persists longer than 15 minutes you should check for any software on your computer that would be blocking the communication.
