Screen Tearing

If you are experiencing screen tearing in ZBrush, please remember that ZBrush is a CPU-based and not a GPU-based program. Performance issues are typically going to be related to the CPU rather than your video card.

However, we are aware of an OS-related setting on the Windows platform that can produce a screen tearing effect.  This feature is Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling.

In Windows 10 this can be found in the following way:

  1. Right click on the Desktop to open "Display Settings".
  2. Under  the "Multiple Displays" section, go to "Graphics Settings."

In Windows 11 this is found at:

Settings> System Display> Graphics> Default Graphics Settings

Please make sure that Hardware Enabled GPU Scheduling is disabled, and then re-check the issue after restarting the machine.
